White for dark North facing kitchen

I have a North facing kitchen. It's a fair size but has dark cabinets and a black worktop and splashback cream floor tiles. The walls are currently a drab cream.
I've been struggling to find a colour to find a colour to brighten it as I can't afford to replace the kitchen. I was thinking of yellow but can't find a yellow that tones with the cabinets.
I'm now thinking maybe white is my best bet? I was thinking brilliant white but have read that can make a dark room look drab and a warm white is better.
Any suggestions for a white that could work (or even an alternative colour)?

I've got a dark hallway & currently trying to decide between school house white & Wimborne white from Farrow & Ball.

Doesn't seem to be much between them.

I would have a look at Velspar Pineapple Crush for a possible yellow.

What about pink? I have a north facing kitchen that's navy but with white work tops. The pink looks really good and I think white would have been too cold and too stark a contrast with the navy. I think pink makes it look warmer and more cosy. I guess it depends what colour your dark cabinets are though . . . .

My north-facing kitchen has Dulux Jasmine White which is lovely and soft and warm.
It goes well with my off-white cabinets, but you'd need to check if it suits the cream in your kitchen.

Thanks everyone, in the end I decided that white was going to be too stark and look a bit like hanibal lectors kitchen. I settled on farrow and balls day room yellow in the end and it looks lovely.

I also thought about pink but my hallway and office/ box room are pink so I thought that might be too much pink!
