Hi all,

recently bought a blank canvas Edwardian terrace! Would love to fill it with the William Morris range, I’ve been a fan of it for years.

has anyone gone for the curtains/bedding/ paints/ wallpaper etc! Range seems huge!

is it worth the price?

would love some photos! 🤞🏻🏠

I came on expecting to see a Range/aga in WM pattern 😂

I just this week received my new Strawberry Thief bedding from Brand Alley, half the price of John Lewis...

I have raspberry thief green cushions in my farrow and ball card room green living room against brown leather chesterfields, and a large William morris print on a unit. Both from Etsy!

I buy the bed linen from Bedeck when they are in the sale. Tbh I can't tell the difference in quality to a 'normal' bedding set and actually one of my sets has worn out now but that's after 6 years of pretty solid rotation. They do tend to wash well in terms of not getting washed out/losing colour.

You can buy vintage (often homemade) curtains on eBay and repurpose them if you are handy, and I made my own cushion covers using some of my mum's old WM fabric.

The 'original' wallpapers and fabrics are sold by Morris and Co, the original company. They are premium quality, expensive, and of course, lovely. But if you google, almost every shop produces William Morris patterns on their own items, from lampshades to bathmats and curtains, with massively varying degrees of quality. The Morris designs I have are Pooky lampshades for my bathroom, which I think are lovely, and I had cheap bathmats and bathroom runners printed by Redbubble.com in the matching design.

@NellyBarney thanks for the info! The paint colours look Devine 😍 I could be tempted to splash out.

I’m a big fan and also renovating an early Edwardian house. Planning on wallpapering our hallway in golden Lily (see home_stead on Instagram - I’m copying her upstairs hallway) and possibly also using pomegranates in a bedroom. Wondering whether it might be a bit much to paper the (sloping) ceilings too?!

I love a bit of William Morris too (actually an understatement as we were previously quite serious collectors of Arts & Crafts Movement - and Art Nouveau - decorative objects, furniture and textiles which proliferated in every inch of space), but now we own a much older house than our previous Victorian and Arts & Crafts homes we're more restrained/eclectic!

A few William Morris cushions remain - blue Willow Boughs, Indian Loop and Jasmine embroidery as well as Strawberry Thief in a more contemporary colourway plus a lovely Ben Pentreath - marigold iirc - in orange/pink. We have Strawberry Thief wallpaper in indigo on our upstairs landing.

Some of our other wallpapers and textiles still have that William Morris feel but are Liberty and Voysey patterns, plus we have a contemporary block printed bed throw from Doing Goods which has a definite nod towards William Morris design.

Me too!

I've got a lovely blue Strawberry Thief shower curtain and matching Toothbrush mug. 😁

MrsMitford3 · 02/09/2023 12:47

I got some really lovely William Morris cushions from Etsy-

love them

Don't know how I forgot all my William Morris books...I've got 21 specifically about him/his designs plus a further 27 on the Arts and Crafts Movement generally (and that's without all the Art Nouveau and Pre-raphaelite titles which take up a whole bookcase)....obsessed? Never, ha!

Also remembered we've a melamine salad bowl (from TK Maxx) in Strawberry Thief too.

Think I need to get a William Morris toothbrush mug @marshmallowfinder
