Deep kitchen cupboard, help with organising

Hi

i have a deep cupboard in my kitchen. Two shelves. 20 inches deep and 21 inches wide and around head height.

it’s nice and big, but everything gets lost in there as can’t see what’s at the back.

Any ideas on how I can organise , sliding storage ? Something where I can keep track of what’s at the back and easily access.

thanks

Could you get sliding drawers on rails? If you get one per shelf you can just slide it out like a drawer so you can reach what's at the back of it? Then it's like drawers so nothing gets lost? That's what I've done for mine!

Would storage boxes be a help? Then you can just slide the whole thing out and find what you need. I've got some in a top cupboard for packets of rice and pasta etc, and they are very handy.

That would need fitting to the shelf ? Need to be custom made I presume ?

I am thinking of that . It’s an awkward size to find and think need two side by side, if can get the right dimensions .

the top shelf is harder to see as higher . Lower is just about head height .

thanks

@WannabeMarieKondo tbh depending on the size you'll probably find something pre made on a kitchen fitters website! They make all sized cabinets so they might have something to fit. I got a carpenter to make mine, they're on tracks which don't need to be sized to the cupboard and he made the drawer style bit to fit 😊

B&M has lots of kitchen organising storage. I like the pantry organisers: https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/large-non-slip-fridge-organiser-with-handle-368016, I can reach the handle on most shelves and pull the whole thing out.

That looks more like it as I need to be able to pull put. So much ends up forgotten at the back as it’s deep . I’ll check out the sizes. Thanks.

I'm 5'3" and can reach the handle and pull a whole container out! I have loads of them now!

Thanks. I don’t have a store near, but sure other places do them.

I'm glad you asked this as I've been thinking about what to do with a similar sized cupboard in the utility room that gets things chucked in it, never to see the light of day again. On the bottom shelf, I do have some containers like the B&M ones above, which works fairly well for cleaning stuff. And I have one of those wire under-shelf shelves with smaller bits in. But it's the higher shelves which are really awkward. I'm sure Ikea must have something.

Yeah the higher shelf is harder .
