We are relocating two double plug sockets and they’re going to leave quite the hole in the plasterboard. What’s the best way to fill them before wallpapering over please?

Plasterer used expanding foam, to fill before he plastered over.

Baton screwed onto wall, piece of plasterboard (cut to socket size) screwed onto baton, skim with plaster and sand.

Thats how I, with no diy knowledge, would do it. I think.

You could buy a dummy socket cover that acts as a safe.

Thank you all!

If you wallpaper over, 2 or 3 layers of filler should do. If there is a gap between the plasterboard and the wall, squeeze in some cardboard or scrunched up newspaper.

Just do what previous owners of our house did, and stick a piece of furniture in front of the hole!

Expanding foam, then either cut a bit of plasterboard to size (ask a neighbour having work done) & skim it, or polyfilla over & sandpaper down
