“Internal porch” / partitioning ideas

So we are in the process of buying a house and have seen a couple we like. Neither have a porch. This is something we find really useful at our current place to stop pets from running out while answering the door etc.

One of the houses doesn’t really have room for a new external porch due to a large bay window.

The hall is fairly large so I’m considering making a small “internal porch” - even if it’s barely big enough for a shoe rack and a couple of coats, it would be useful.

Any ideas on materials etc I could use to avoid having to put up a full new internal wall and door? Or any idea how much that might cost/how difficult it is?

I suppose you could youse MDF panelling. But you would need to construct a frame to attach it to and, if you want a door to stop pets you would need a door frame anyway, so would it not just be worth getting a stud wall put up? What would you do without a door, just have an opening in the fake wall? I’d call it a vestibule but I can’t bring up prices on any searches.

A vestibule will need one wall and a door.
