Has anyone painted a composite door?

Moved into a new place with a dark wood effect composite door. It's really quite gloomy. Would love to paint the inside and outside a heritage sage green type colour.

Has anyone done this successfully?
Would love recommendations on paint types / brands and also all the prep needed.

I have. Used ordinary external paint and a smooth mini roller. Went on like dream and stayed put.
