ordering roman blinds

I am trying to order 2 roman blinds for 2 windows, each 150cm wide. The fabric width is 137cm so I realise I will need more than 1 length of fabric per blind. But if I were making these at home, I would only need 3 lengths of fabric total - a full length + a strip for blind no1 and another full length + a strip for blind no2. And both strips can come from the same piece with less wastage. Hooray.

I've now spent the afternoon looking up websites to buy these blinds, and all quote a price for 2 blinds that is double the price of one blind. but two blinds do NOT use double the fabric, they should use 1.5x the fabric. And fabric costs is about 50% of the total price.

I'm sure this is because the website is unable to work out how the fabric is used, but it annoys me to pay for more fabric than is needed.

Any advice for a way to buy roman blinds that might resolve this issue?

Blinds 2 go! They make Roman blinds to your exact measurement AND they have a fitting now that is like a tension rod so take a second to put up. Complete revelation.

If the blind is wider than the fabric, it's recommended to have two "expansion" panels of equal width attached to each side, rather than just one on a side - this looks more balanced and pleasing to the eye. So this may add to the fabric estimate. Plus, if it's a patterned fabric, you'd need to account for the repeat to make sure the pattern is matched across the pieces.

Blinds 2 Go- they will talk you through it in Whatsapp or email or phone. We've just ordered roman blinds, they're brilliant. £140 instead of £550 at a local shop. I'm all for supporting local business but that's a ridiculous mark up! We've ordered roller blinds from them before but this is the first roman blinds we've ordered. You just measure the recess and they do the rest.

Thanks for the replies. Blinds2go don't do the (rather too expensive) fabric that I like. And none of the other sites specify exactly how they cut the fabric etc.

I think I'll look for a local place. Any recommendations in north London?
