I know some people will say they’ve been done to death but I love them and I’m getting blue ones on my bathroom floor - like thishttps://www.stonetilecompany.co.uk/lyra-blue-star-patterned-wall-and-floor-tiles
But I can’t decide what wall tiles to put with them - I’d really like glossy.

So I’d love to see how other people have styled there’s - particularly in bathrooms.

Lyra Blue Star Patterned Tiles

While these tiles might be a new addition to our collection, it’s fair to say they’re an instant winner. If you want your tiles to push the boundaries and define the trends - rather than merely following them - why not go for our Lyra blue star pattern...

I love those and I haven't seen them before. Sorry I can't help though

DappledThings · 27/07/2023 16:10

We have those same ones but in the green colour on the floor of our en-suite. With large matt white halfway up the walls and green paint above. Not at home at the moment, will share a photo later!

We were intending to get these for our family bathroom (in black, from Ca' Pietra) 5 years ago when we bought our current house, but decided against as I was already seeing them everywhere online.

Despite their popularity, I still like them though - and the tiles I eventually chose because I believed they were more unique are now also starting to be seen a lot 🙄

We were planning to have white herringbone tiling in the wet areas with pale pink (F&B Setting Plaster) painted walls in the rest of the room.

Rainbowbrite82 · 27/07/2023 18:42

Thank you all! Love the idea of pink but not a cat’s chance in hell of OH going for that!

I might go for glossy blue tiles in some areas and glossy white in others. The type of white tiles I really like are those pearly ones that are sort of rippled and have slightly different shades of white in them, almost grey bits too. But I’m a bit worried they won’t go as they’re not the same “white” as the star floor tiles, iyswim.

What do people think? I’m so rubbish at this - I can never decide if I like a look until I see a completed room…which is obviously too late….😆

Sometimes things are popular and “done to death” because they’re gorgeous- I love those!

Rainbowbrite82 · 27/07/2023 20:33

Ah thank you @LoobyDop !

There's a really good tv show on the channel 5 catch up app called Dream Kitchens and Bathrooms. A couple used the star tiles in their bathroom but I can't remember which episode it was.

Rainbowbrite82 · 28/07/2023 10:46

I’ve never heard of that show - sounds perfect!

I am hoping to have either of these on the floors of all bathroom/toilets/shower rooms with different colours for the wall tiles for each room. I'd like my main bathroom to have emerald green wall tiles and white walls with wooden cupboards etc

@longtompot those Cuba ones are gorgeous!

@Rainbowbrite82 arent they just! I love both of them so it will be quite hard to decide. I think I prefer the Cuba as they have a slightly less slippery feel to them so a bit safer for bathrooms. I'll decide when the time comes

Here you go. With white wall tiles and green walls.

LoobyDop · 28/07/2023 16:15

Another advantage of the ones above is that they’ve got that “aged” white finish, which means they don’t show dirt as quickly.

Rainbowbrite82 · 28/07/2023 18:47

@DappledThings lovely - love that green!

Just coming back to this - another question - what colour grout would you use with the star tiles? They’re going on the floor so I’m thinking definitely not white - maybe a light grey? Would that work with my blue and white wall tiles too?

OP posts:
Rainbowbrite82 · 07/08/2023 19:21

…so now I’m thinking white is the best shade for the grout even though it’s not recommended for floors 😫 What have other people used?

OP posts:
longtompot · 07/08/2023 22:34

I think I would have off white as the white will go off white in time, unless you are a fan of bleaching your grout.

Rainbowbrite82 · 07/08/2023 23:34

No, not a fan of the bleaching!!

I’d love to see pictures of tiles like mine with different coloured grouts if anyone is happy to share?

OP posts:
Rainbowbrite82 · 07/08/2023 23:36

@DappledThings I know your tiles are a little different to mine as you’ve got for the “aged” ones but what colour is your grout, please? I’m so blind to this sort of thing, I can’t tell at all from looking at your photo!

OP posts:
Jellycats4life · 07/08/2023 23:49

Ooh you don’t want white grout for a floor tile, you’d definitely live to regret it.

LibertyLily · 08/08/2023 09:46

I wouldn't have white grout with floor tiles.

Our family bathroom tiles aren't the same as yours but do have some white in them. We went for a mid grey grout.

Please show me your star tiles!
Rainbowbrite82 · 08/08/2023 13:19

Oooh @LibertyLily they look nice and I can barely see the grout which I suppose is the whole point!

Next question - should you have the same grout all over your bathroom? I’ve got 2 different coloured wall tiles going up!

I'm not sure I can tell the colour even looking up close! It's a kind of grey I think. Been down for about 4 years so I don't remember choosing I'm afraid.
