Welsh dressers ?

In the living room ?
i know they are normally in the kitchen or dining room filled with crockery etc but I’m wondering if it would look a bit daft to have one in the living room filled with books ?

I want a piece of furniture / book case that has a cupboard at the bottom that I can hack to cover the radiator, keep all my books in and fits in with a cottage / Rural vibe of a living room.
