Chimney breast wallpaper

I'm thinking of putting some bright floral wallpaper on our chimney breast.
Anyone else done this?

Busy wallpaper would work better in the recesses at the side of the fireplace as a more modern look.

We only have a recess one side in our living room so put the wallpaper on the chimney breast. I don't give a crap if it's on trend or not as we don't follow interior fashions but just do what makes us happy. Here's a pic from Christmas....

Our chimney breast is in the corner, diagonally, but I like it being brightly wallpapered - it has been wallpapered since 1704, so not much point worrying about what's fashionable or not 😀

I love yours @NellyBarney 😍 - your property looks and sounds wonderfully characterful! Sadly, whilst our house dates from the 1600s, few original features remain, so we've had to do a lot of reinstating when I'd much rather be working with the original stuff.
