We're redesigning our living room as we've made some changes to the house and I actually don't know where to start. I'm actually really rubbish at interior design and the house looks pretty bland with no pictures up on the wall etc so I really want to make the living room a "wow" factor.
The living room is around 3.5m wide by 4.5m long. We were considering a corner sofa on the back wall or potentially a sofa and chair to fill the gap and we would then place the TV on the wall closest to the door when you can see the coiled white cable on the floor (see 2nd photo). This is also the entrance to the living room so I'd also give enough clearance to open the door so it doesn't hit the TV as it opens inwards and can't be changed.
If we did place the TV on the wall and potentially put a cabinet underneath what we put in the alcove where the single window is? By the way, this used to be where out front door was placed but we've blocked it up now that our extension is complete.
Also, what would we place in the middle of the room so that it doesn't look so bare.
Our colour scheme would be browns and creams but think elegant colours. I think we are going to purchase a mink sofa as anything lighter would be a nightmare as we have children and a dog (although the dog is not allowed on the sofa).
I'm waffling here and my ideas are probably rubbish but any ideas would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks for any help you can give!
