How do you fold paste-the-wall paper for hanging?

Trying to put some liner paper up (that appears to be more fabric than paper?). I have two problems:

  1. it’s paste the wall. When I paste the paper, I would normally concertina the paper and use the paste to gently stick itself together as I hang it letting it down gently. I can’t do this when I've pasted the wall - what do I do?
  2. Being more fabric like, it’s creasing/ stretching more easily. I don’t know whether I need to smooth more, whether the action of smoothing is causing the creases.
I've tried to look for videos on YouTube but can’t see anything. I've hung paper loads before, but always paste the paper and often usually thicker types of paper. Thanks!

I roll it up, like a poster. For vertical lining, I put in place at top and then let it drop (roll out). For horizontal, it needs 2 people, really. Ideally 2 people anyway. If it creases that much that you can't easily smooth it, could you return it and buy better quality, heavier grade lining paper?

I would still paste the paper.

I’ve ended up still pasting the paper , I have tried and tested wallpapering methods that have never failed me . Tried to paste the wall and did not enjoy the experience, luckily the paper didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to be pasted .

Exactly this @Theraffarian . Ihave been known to padte wall and paper, that's how my late grandmother taught me. She used to paper ceilings!
