Boring I know, but looking for recommendations for a double sofa bed. Primarily to be used as a sofa if that makes a difference.

thanks!!

We have just bought an amazing Loaf one which was ex-display (only way we could afford Loaf!). We’ve discovered some good places which sell seconds/ex-display/cancelled orders for furniture.

Don’t go to Willow and Hall - we had an awful experience with them after our sofa bed arrived damaged and they were supremely uninterested in sorting it out.

The double sofa bed is useful but sometimes looks bad in the room if not set well with decorations.

We bought a Chesterfield sofabed online a year ago. It cost around 1K, it's fairly comfortable to sleep on and it looks very smart.

Darlings of Chelsea are good.

@WhoHidTheCoffee would you mind sharing some of the places you found for ex display/etc ?

Hi @MandaLynn , we’ve bought stuff from Retford-based 2PinkFlamingoes, who are very professional and deliver quickly. You can view items by appointment if you’d prefer to try before you buy - they have a Facebook page and website, and also sell some stuff on eBay.

We looked at Direct Furniture in Bury St Edmunds, which has a lot of Loaf seconds, but they didn’t quite have what we were looking for. And I haven’t bought from them but I follow the Nearly New Sofa Company on Facebook after seeing some of their items advertised on eBay.

Agree with Darlings, although only tried their sofas not their sofabeds. Sofas are good quality though.

Made to Last sofabeds look good although not seen in the flesh

I think the key thing is to check the size and thickness of the sofabed mattress. Thicknesses seem to range from 10-14cm and every little bit helps make it comfier.

Always check the width of the bed. Was royally pissed off to find that mine was narrower than the sofa width (gaps between the arms and the bed) and I didn't realise until the first time I used it months later). My fault for not paying attention when ordering it.
