100% cotton bedding

Where on earth can I buy 100% cotton double bedding? Next and Dunelm are full of horrible polycotton. I bought a polycotton set by accident last year and it was so rustly and plasticky. The sheets slithered off the duvet at every possible opportunity. And it glistened like plastic on the washing line when it was drying...

But everywhere sells it! And advertises it like if it's superior 😂 it's all so expensive too. Asda used to be great for bedding - our local store is huge and doesn't even have one cotton set anymore!

Anyway, anyone know? I don't have a huge budget (well it used to be a good budget for bedding but as everything else, it's shot up!)

I dont even care what colour it is!

King of cotton also.
We had some white company ones that were nice, but cost x4 the price and started fraying after a few years

King of cotton has a business sector so also catered for hotels etc. can wash loads and reasonable prices ie I think our last super king duvet cover was £50 v £200+ white company

Dunelm do, do some 100% cotton www.dunelm.com/category/home-and-furniture/bedding/100-cotton-bedding
as do Asda
M&S, John Lewis, TKMaxx, next, La Redoute, Morrisons

You just have to look at the labels or to sort it a bit quicker Google 100% cotton duvet sets

BorgQueen · 01/07/2023 09:31

I bought recycled cotton bedding from dunelm and it’s lovely, so soft, it’s obviously popular because when I looked to buy more, it was sold out in the taupe colour .
Winter stuff is easier, flanellette is always pure cotton.

Thanks Wonky but as I've already said we don't have John Lewis and TK Maxx nearby.

Asda and Tesco had no stock of 100% cotton in a double size (as much as a single spiderman duvet sounds great - it isnt what I need!). Just the usual Polycotton was in stock.

We don't have a Morrisons either.

I want to touch the actual bedding before buying it. Some Next and La Redoute reviews said that quality was poor.

Quite a lot of the bedding on Dunelm says it isn't available in my local store. And we only have 1 store in a 200 mile radius 😂

But many thanks for taking the time to reply to my thread 😊

Anyway. Ikea have what we need and we are on our way 🥳

Thanks everyone.

If anyone needs an affordable conclusion to this thread the answer is IKEA and Primark 😊

(or Dunelm, Tesco and Asda for those lucky enough to have big stores and lots of stock!)

I bought 100% cotton in Dunelm!

And me, and very recently. You need to read the labels but there was lots to choose from

BinkleToes · 01/07/2023 09:51

Boundary Outlet if you're near one.

That's really great. IF you have a nice Dunelm with lots of stock 🤣 we do not

The answer is always Ikea.

Should just put them in charge of the country

😂 I don't think the checkout people would be impressed by the Tillslag overlords.

(Tillslag is an ikea name for a desk / shelf thing)

H&M do 100 % cotton. https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/productpage.1159667003.html

This is a kids one but they do adult as well.

Zara also do 100% cotton, prices vary but they are gorgeous. https://www.zarahome.com/gb/flower-and-butterfly-print-duvet-cover-l42146088?categoryId=1020539148&colorId=518&dir=true

Oh my goodness the H&M bedding is beautiful. And 100% cotton. And good value! Thank you so much for sending me the link!!

DH is being bombarded with links to bedding. I don't think this is what he was expecting his weekend to be like 😂

I know you want to feel them first, so this isn't an option, but i only buy 100% cotton and not the most expensive stuff. I like the way orla kiely bedding feels, and someone somewhere is usually selling it cheaply on line. Also stains don't set in with this bedding, coffee, tea and blood have all come straight out with a scoop of stain removal stuff added to the wash. We redecorated two years ago and bought new bedding, so it isn't at all old, but also still looks brand new.

DataNotLore · 01/07/2023 10:04

Have to say that I don't rate HnM home stuff. None of it has lasted

moonisblue · 01/07/2023 12:07

Check out Kaleidoscope as they have lots of pure cotton sets at very reasonable prices. Online though, so no chance to touch before buying sadly.

Ayegoon · 01/07/2023 16:07

Thanks all. We got the 100% cotton double bedding at IKEA for £15!

There were other sets more expensive, but we actually preferred the £15 set 😊😂 as it suits our decor

I recently got the M&S pure cotton 180 thread count fitted sheets and they are much, much better than I had hoped considering the price - I thought they were really good value and much cheaper than John Lewis equivalent. (Not quite as nice, but close enough!)

samqueens · 01/07/2023 19:50

Sorry - late to the party!

LindorDoubleChoc · 01/07/2023 19:51

Confused you can buy 100% cotton bedding really easily. Have you not googled?

Asda does pure cotton bedding. Their fitted sheets are £8 for a single I think.

I bought some Asda 100% cotton bedding for an unexpected guest just after we moved (we'd only just bought the bed, hadn't got around to the bedding). It's OK for very occasional use but is very thin and bobbles easily.

I'm a big fan of King of Cotton. Their 25% off summer sale is on for another couple of days.

I know it seems unlikely but I have two fitted sheets from Wilko - Egyptian cotton and very good quality. Have had them for ages now and they're still looking and feeling great. Haven't had to replace my covers yet but will look in there when the time comes. Oh and the fitted sheets are really deep with good big corners.

Best bedding ever and I spent a few years refining to this.

I'd forgotten about Sheridan bedding. I had a couple of sets for my previous kingsize bed (replaced with a superkingsize) and they were great quality.
