I have just had the outside of my front windows repainted. The work was finished about a week and a half ago and lots of the paint has already cracked. It looks a mess. I have sent photos to the manager of the company and he has said he will book in someone to fix it.

A friend who used to be a professional decorator said probably the cause of this was that there was not enough drying time between the primer, the undercoats, and the gloss, so I am going to make sure that is done differently this time.

My question is: Not all of the paint is cracked, but should I ask the company to remove and redo all of the paint? Otherwise, I wonder whether the paint that is not yet cracked might crack before long.

I am sure the manager will not want to redo the whole thing, but luckily I have not yet paid, so I could always refuse to pay unless the whole thing is redone.

I'd be very grateful for any advice on this!

That's a mess, I would want the whole thing redoing

Looks like they didn't prepare it properly. Are they willing to redo?

I would get another company in and get their advice. I would be reluctant to trust the people who did that!
