They definitely tend towards cream than ivory in spite of the name.

I don’t like dark walls. I have white windows and skirting, but lots of wood furniture.

Please help - I’m clueless!

A light willow or sage green or blush pink would go. I have the opposite, ivory walls in my bedroom and then I have pinks and greens in my bedding and curtains.

My first thought was sage green.

LibertyLily · 19/06/2023 10:27

I also thought pale dusky pink or sage green.

When I think 'cream', I think of yellow undertones. Milk has blue undertones. On my screen at least, these curtains look slightly greyish/greige. If that's how they look in real life, I'd try and match the grey undertone. F&B colours are famous for their grey undertones. Neptune's Flax Blue is also a light grayish blue that would look nice. I think if you go for something bright and creamy, even a bright sage or blush, the curtains might look a bit dull and dirty, so you want the grayish off-white(off-any colour) look in whatever colour you like.

Thank you. I think this has hit the nail on the head.

I wanted light curtains because the area is so large and my current darker ones dominate too much. The problem I'm having is that every colour I put against them just makes them look dirty.

Would a duck egg blue look good against them?

Yes to duck egg, as long as it has black mixed in. Have a look at F&B Dix Blue. You can get it colour matched at B&Q or Brewers just make sure you use a matt base.
