We moved in nearly a year ago.
The kids room has a mid grey carpet, and currently blue-grey painted walls that need re-painting due to things being taken off the walls. I've never bought into the grey trend.
It's east facing, and not the brightest of rooms.
Before I paint it all some version of "just off white" any suggestions to brighten it up?
Shared between 12 and 14 yr old boys. Wooden blinds. Can add curtains if suggested.

Dulux do some ‘light and space’ paints, designed for darker rooms. They do seem to make it brighter.

Alternatively, you could make it a monochrome scheme? Our spare room has a grey carpet, I don’t like it but it’s nice quality so I’m not changing it. We painted the walls bright white, the furniture is white, the bedding is grey and white geometric designs, we have black frames on the walls with black and white pictures in. Add a couple of plants in grey or white pots and the wooden blinds and I think it would look very cool. You could also add a splash of something like teal or bright orange accessories.

We have grey carpets upstairs. We have had darker carpets and they show every bit of dust/ hair on them and had lighter carpets and they show every bit of dirt. We felt grey was a good compromise.

id paint it white and accessories it with brighter/lighter colours for bedding, cushions, frames, lampshades eg mustard, mint green, sky blue

Grey and mustard go beautifully together .
