Great bed linen

I'm about to size up from a double to a king bed and will need to replace my bed linen. I'm a minimalist type and want only two sets... one on the bed, one washed and ready to go. I love the feel of those thick cotton lux hotel type sheets - any tips on good stores for this and what thread count I should look at etc? Thanks

I'd say 400. I've used Belledorm 400 and the White Company. I go for that thread count as I want them to last well, and I think they need to be 400 for that.

Would you consider pure linen? I bought white from Soak and Sleep. Apparently linen lasts much longer than other bed linen. It's lovely in summer and winter. I just put a textured white bedspread over the top so no need for ironing.

I was treated to a 1000 count fitted bottom sheet and I love it ! I don’t want a top sheet as it would be too heavy and hot.

It was from Dunelm.

Thank you for the replies 1000 count sounds divine! Perhaps that's the way to go with 400 on top..
