Is it really naff/dated? All my walls are painted but tempted to do the whole feature wall with a large print wallpaper in the living room. Am I 10 years out of date? 😁

I only decorate for myself, not the latest trend or what is "fashionable" so I am about to put some large print wallpaper in my downstairs loo. Mainly because I love the wallpaper and in such a small space it is really in your face.

My Dad worked in marketing so I have learned how it all works with making us feel like we need the latest thing because if we didn't then they wouldn't get to sell us stuff would they?

Embrace what you love, do it for you and put up that large print wallpaper.

I'm with @CustardPiesAPlenty - if you love it, who gives a fig what's on trend!

I’m not sure if I will love it is the problem 😂 I do love the print but I’m so used to plain painted walls that I’m not sure if it will be overwhelming to have this giant lovely print very visible.

Large print wallpaper is cool. Do you have a pattern in mind?
Feature walls are very dated though. Go wild and paper the whole room!

I should add that I agree with PP- if you love it then do what you like and don’t worry about fashion. But if you are trying to make it look modern then a feature wall won’t work.

If you are worried about it being overwhelming, you take a large piece of wallpaper and frame it (or make several pictures out of it) and hang them up. Or create some panelling and only wallpaper above the panelling/inside the mouldings. Or paint the bottom third of the wall and wallpaper above it. Or start with a room you don't spend much time in, like a pantry, downstairs loo or hallway.
