Bathroom cost

Hi there I am currently pricing up a new shower room which is currently a bathroom in an average 3 bed detached. Last time my bathroom 13 years ago cost £2500. Now so think it's going to cost /about 7-8 k including fitting does that seem right?? Tiled 3 walls, long shower unit, tiled floor average priced figments from chain.

I got 3 quotes for a small bathroom (2.2mx1.7m). Includes plastering, extra wall lights and move the switches to the outside, extractor fan in new place, tiling fully in shower and half way on the other walls and tiles on the floor.
Basically everything new but in the same position...all quotes were 7/8k labour only. Then another 3k for materials 🤷‍♀️🥲

So i would say your quote seems okay, but i would get more than one.

Where abouts are you? That is incredibly expensive for a small bathroom.
I'm currently having my bathroom done, and it is considerably bigger. The materials cost around £800 and labour is £3500

I'm in Hertfordshire. We went middle range for materials...maybe we could have saved some on cheaper brands but we didn't want to go too cheap.
But from labour I couldn't get cheaper (They are not facing plumbers/companies neither).

I'm Home Counties. We paid close to £10K for a refit. The tiles were the most expensive- about £50 a sq mtre - although the room is only half tiled.

I had a new floor- Amtico- new shower bath, overhead shower, wash bowl and stand, and a tall 'boy' set of cupbaords. Lots from from the Bath store which have now closed.

The most pricey was the labour- tiling and plumbing.

Thank you so much for your replies, the bathroom is 4k and fitting including disposal and underfloor heating with all sundries 4k, I think it's just the prices have rocketed so will have to pay. Thing is prices will probably get even higher if I don't get it done now 😀

I've had a quote of £8k to supply and fit complete combination loo & basin vanity unit and full size bath + panel and all essential fittings (mid range). Includes labour for strip out of old stuff, replaster, tiling to half height, fit ceiling spotlights, fit lvt floor. We just need to buy lvt & wall tiles. Same size room approx.

I'm getting a couple more quotes. The problem is labour costs and a shortage of skilled trades. Lead times are long and costs high.

6-10k sounds about right. If everything stays in place, ca 2k plumber, 2k tiler, depending how much plaster damage, say 1k plasterer (gypsum/plasterboard), 500 pounds electrician (extractor fan, light fittings, switches). Then tiles, bath, shower, taps etc. So at the bottom end you could squeeze into a budget of 6.5k, but freestanding bath, quality shower and seperate enclosure, vanity unit can easily push budget above 10k. Fwiw, I have both highish end (BC, Lefroy Brooks, Burlington) and Big Bathroom store own brand (Milano), and apart from the toilets, the cheap Milano range is my favourite. I would also not like to spend much on tiles. As long as I like the colour/pattern/finish, I don't care whether it's B&Q or Fired Earth, and am really not convinced anyone will see the difference.
