To stop 'floor storage'

Anything you'd recommend in order to stop 'floor storage' my husband leaves his clothes on the floor then gets into bed. I leave mine on the bed in the spare room.

I'm trawling online as well for good storage for a 9 month old's room. The room is an OK size double, both ours and the babies. We have zero storage in either room. DH and I keep our clothes in drawers in the spare room, nothing in our bedroom.

DS had a set of drawers that's it.

I am really bad at this sort of stuff. I need to just see it and say yes. Or have some one that can just tell me what to do!

I also have a really long corridor for the bedrooms it's really dark. I'm thinking lots of pictures of our travels in Australia/ Asia/ S. America can brighten it up

We have hooks on the wall in our bedroom (like coat hooks). The idea is we hang up clothes we’re going to wear again, and dressing gowns etc.
DH still leaves his on the floor though..

For storage for the baby’s room, do you mean drawers or clothes storage? Or are you looking for toys and things like that? I like Pinterest for ideas, search there for hallway inspiration but I too think artwork is great to brighten a hallway.

I put our laundry basket at an easily throwable distance from where we get undressed, I also have a shelf next to it to put my part-worn clothes on that are still fine. If the pile gets too ridiculous I sweep it all off into the washing basket and start again. This has helped prevent floordrobe.

I have no wardrobe atm so got a temporary clothes rail. £12.

I have never managed to get DH to put his clothes anywhere other than the floor.

We have drawers, a wardrobe, a storage chest and hooks on the wall. He does put his dressing gown on the hook. He dumps stuff on the storage chest, rather than in it, and all around it.

I think the only thing that could possibly would work is if he had a chair to dump them on too but there isnt room.

Crikey, I thought my DH was untidy when it comes to where he deposits clothes after removing them (on a small sofa in our bedroom usually), but at least he's never dumped them on the floor! Do some blokes really do this?

We're in the process of improving our clothes storage and currently have a single antique wardrobe in our room for my clothes (although I'm guilty of frequently putting certain items on the sofa too), a built-in cupboard in the upstairs hall for his plus a clothes rail from Dunelm - temporarily situated in the bathroom - for DH's work shirts/jackets etc.

I like the idea of multiple coat hooks/pegs in the bedroom or else a freestanding clothes rail if there's space to accommodate one. I'm afraid if my DH continued dumping his clothes on the floor, I'd be inclined to give him his meals in a trough! Sorry - this is behaviour I'd expect from a toddler not an adult.

If DH is planning on re-wearing a pair of trousers the next day (which I sort of object to as well) they get half folded on top of a bench. One of the few things that drives me nuts. I've contemplated buying one of those butler things that look like a big coat hanger on a stand, but I'm convinced the stool would still get deployed.

Thank you everyone I have been looking at your options. I'm going to Ikea tomorrow. I am going to get the square shelves you put boxes into for DS bedroom.

I think these look very clever for our bedroom then:
