Dogs ruined my lino!

There was a tear in my lino that people who fixed my carpet (also ruined by the dog) did. I was going to glue it down and it would've been ok. While I was out yesterday the dog beat me to it and did this 🤦🏼‍♀️
Anyone any tips on how to hide it? I can't afford a full new lino for my kitchen.

Is it right by a doorway? Personally I’d glue down the edges around the hole so it can’t get any worse and then stick a rug / doormat over the top!

(If you can get a very small new piece of the lino you might be able to cut out a matching square with a craft knife and switch it over).

@Xrays yes so the carpet you can see is our living room if that makes sense - kitchen and living room are adjoined. There some spare under the kick board so I did try to cut some but it stuck up as it had like the spongy layer under if that makes sense and I glued more of my fingers and new gel nails than the floor 🤦🏼‍♀️
I might try again though when I haven't got kids trying to climb on me and I'll buy some new glue as that was quite tacky.

I was considering just buying a doormat and making do for the time being too though. Kids and animals, who would have them! x
