Boring bedroom help!

Any tips or ideas on how to make my bedroom look nicer? No idea what to add on the walls. We were thinking of long mirrors either side of the bed above the bedside tables but our ceiling curves down & is quite low so it just doesn’t look right!

Art of any kind on the wall, it looks a bit bare and doesn't show any personality.
Add a couple of nice plants? Something tall and leafy in that corner perhaps?
Move the bedsides so they're not rammed up against the sides of the bed.

Lots of good ideas on Pinterest.

Thanks. just need to find some artwork that we like that matches the blue wall. We haven’t got any plants in there as the cat just digs the soil out 😩

I feel like nothing matches the colours we have in that room - kind of regret the paint choice!

I'd go with a picture above the bed and maybe some fleeces or rugs on the floor plus a large plant or chair in the corner. You could also put a throw on the bed. I agree with moving the bedside table out a bit.

I have two small silk rugs that I have hung on the wall.

Usually some flowers as well.

Paint colour is one of the last things to choose as there are thousands of them and you can have it matched to something specific in the room. The blue is very dark and doesn't really go with the carpet colour. The main light shade is very boring, something with hole would cast a pattern which would add interest when the light is on and look more interesting when the light is off.

Are the curtains and bedside lamps grey? I agree that moving out the bedside cabinet to cover the plug sockets would help give it space. Plus the bedside lamps are too small for the space. You can afford to go bigger and bolder. Options for plants are to put stones on top of the soil to stop the cat digging or get artificial plants.

Lots of cheap artwork on Desenio. You need to create a board on Pinterest yourself, put anything you want to keep like the bed and the duvet cover and then add stuff in to see it all next to each other. Pinterest is very good for looking at things like bedside lamps so you can see the ratio size of the cabinet to the lamp. Same with rugs and position of rugs.

When designing a space you start with what you can't or won't change and work out from that. Your room is a great size.

I think the paint is fine but If that's the bit you like then maybe change the other bits so it matched?

Our bedroom is a similar navy but the bedding is white and we have art on the walls. Curtains could be white or blue depending on whether you want a lighter or darker feel, and you can match the curtains to that, or not to complement?

Maybe something that ties the blues, greys and some blacks together?

Change the ceiling light.
