Curtain length

I've bought the ikea double rail for my 4m wide bedroom window. I'm trying to hem the curtains now and am wondering about allowing a little trail on the floor. DH thinks they should be just touching the floor.

Is there a right or wrong here? #clueless

All of mine are just touching the floor. Makes them hang nicer IMO.

The material I've chosen is quite lightweight though - the inner curtain is like a voile and the outer curtain is like a thin linen. They're not particularly heavy. Does that make a difference?

I think it’s a question of style - I think it looks very luxurious to have the curtains pool on the floor a little but it’s definitely less practical!
