Wall mural. Would you?

I love the pine forest wall mural that they have a Center parcs. When I sit in the lodge with the fire going and a glass of wine and that wall I just feel so relaxed. Now I know wallpaper isn't the same as a weekend break but I'm wondering if I can bring some of that into my home.
Once the extension we are having done is finished I'll have a large blank wall and I don't know what to do with it.
Any ideas or tips?

We did! Felt like a leap of faith but six years on we still love it.

Thanks for this. That's good to hear. Mind if I ask what you went for or near ish and where it was from?

We went for a view of a place we love, got it from Wallsauce.

We did! But put it in the bathroom (pic attached)

I have no idea what a centre parks pine mural looks like? Can you post a pic?

PIL built their home very early 90's and had an artist paint murals on various walls. Although artistically very good, murals in homes now seems very dated. If you like the look though, go for it. Nothing will be to everyones taste, but as long you you like it- that is all that matters.

A lot of what I search is American woodland. Which is beautiful but not what I'm after

Another one with a mural. I have this one in my bathroom.

I'd say go for it! It's your house, you can decorate it however you choose and if you don't like it in the future, you can change it.

For an 'off the shelf' wallpaper mural, try Wickes.

Also Dunelm Mill but I'm not sure their range is quite what you are looking for.

Not sure those are the murals being discussed? I thought it was the wallpaper ones?

Your link won’t open for me and I suspect this isn’t what they have in Center Parcs but I love murals and I really admire people who have the courage of their convictions when decorating (even if it’s not my personal thang). I’d probably be more inclined to buy one printed on a roll than commission an artist (unless you have thousands to spend and they are really gifted) but I’d say definitely do it! You only live once!

I'm not keen on that one but it's your room. I love the bathroom one above and some if the others attached.

Mixkle · 30/03/2023 23:00

We did! Love it.

Be aware you can yse any photo with high enough resolution. It can e one you took yourself or one you bought on a stock site like Shutterstock or DepositPhotos. Your options aren’t limited to whatever isnon the mural website theh always have an ‘upload your own’ option.

The hard part is deciding! Have fun!

That's great. I'll have to have a look as I know we have some great photos

OP- Are you referring to an actual mural, or do you mean wall paper?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 31/03/2023 10:37

There are lots of companies that do this. As PP has said, you can get your own photos blown up as well ( though it will need to be a proper camera with a lense to be convincing.)

I had Monets water lilies in a bathroom once. It cost about £40 per sq metre.

carriedout · 31/03/2023 10:43

I'm currently thinking of getting one in my lounge as I'll have a big blank wall and I don't like repeat pattern wallpaper.
