Teal paint & quirky wallpaper for living room

I am planning to paint my living room walls and have settles on Teal as a colour.

Can anyone who has used that shade recommend a brand of paint that would be durable and would not cost the earth? I will be doing the painting myself.

I am also planning on having wall paper on one of the walls as an accent.

The decor is bohemian with some gothic elements & I was thinking flowers or birds with some darker tones but I don't want the wall paper to be too bland or too ''cute''.

My budget is not massive but I want something that will last.

Dulux or Johnstone trade
For dark colours be prepared for at least three coats...

We used Dulux Teal Tension - still love it and were 3 years in

Second Johnstone and Dulux.
Although I would get yourself a lot of testers. My old living room was teal and finding the right shade was a nightmare, some colours were too emerald, some navyish, others just didn't fit with the lighting. It's such a difficult colour because it's a mix!
But we had the same theme/colour you're going for and loved it.

We used Dulux. Called Peacock something or other. It's a lovely colour.

I have a used dulux teal voyage a lot. I love it. We painted our hall and it looks great. I used kitchen paint simply because that's what I had and coverage was excellent. Two coats was enough from white.

We have teal wallpaper rather than teal paint, it's quite a dark room so we have a pale taupe sort of colour on the other walls.

Maybe not your cup of tea but we love the paper 🙂

Also have teal tension and love it, something to we wary of with dark paint is it gets dusty. Our house is very old and dusty and every niw and again I need to dust the walls!

Thank you so much everyone! I was looking at Dulux paints yesterday as they seem to have a good selection of teals.

I will get some samples from them.

@PedroPascal I like that wallpaper! I was thinking of having the walls teal and then have one accent wall with a wallpaper with a dark background like the one you shared :) can I ask where you got this one from?

Yes, it's a Grand deco design, think we got it from B&Q. Grand deco has loads of animal/plant/jungle prints and is quite affordable. The paper is really thick and has a slight texture to it which I like.

I’m obsessed with this wallpaper which might work for you.

Oxana we have that paper too, it's a beaut 🤩 we love a jazzy wallpaper in our halls, also have a navy one with golden animals 🙈

I used a teal in a room and I was pleasantly surprised by bandq own range paint, really good coverage only required 2 coats ( went over white) unlike the Dulux red I used I required in the lounge which required 4 😱

I believe it was Milltown by good home

Thank you! I really this one. I have just checked out her wall paper range and it is really nice and not too expensive.
