Ceiling same colour as walls?

We have a fairly typical kitchen breakfast room with a 1.5 height ceiling, sloping with velux windows. It’s a large space and feels quite light.
the walls are currently something predictable- I think Egyptian Cotton,- I’m wondering about painting the ceiling the same colour?
it looks a bit grubby in white so I’m going to paint it anyway.
any thoughts? Has anyone done it?

I’ve just done my whole house in warm off white, ceilings wood work everything (I will likely update it but moving in after renovation and just wanted a clean finish. I love it.

Over the past thirty years i have painted the ceilings one or two shades lighter than the walls. It helps to lift the ceiling like white does but stops it looking grubby after a couple of years.

I've started to do ceilings the same colour as walls....where is the law that ceilings should be white?

Im useless at cutting in so it solves that issue

I’ve done it on an awkward attic room with sloping ceilings, different wall heights and odd nooks. I used Leyland’s antique white, and it looks great.

Much bigger and very clean and modern.

But I made sure I did it in a shade I would be happy for the ceilings and woodwork to stay if I just wanted to pop in and change the walls.

Also I have been staying in a dark poky rental while renovation done and so am slightly over obsessed with clean light and bright!!

We have Egyptian cotton on the walls and Timeless on the ceiling. It's darker than white but not as dark as Egyptian Cotton and so far has held up well..
