Darker but cozy colour for living room

I'm looking for a darker but not too dark, gloomy colour for living room.

We have a dark wood flooring and light grey sofa, beige rug.

I used to like and still kind of like F&B pigeon grey, but I'm afraid it wouldn't go well with the sofa colour?

TIA for your response.

Take a look at some nice deep terracotta shades.

We went for a dark blue and it's much cosier than the light grey we had before. There's a lot of natural light in the room though so doesn't feel dark.

When I redecorate I'm having Dulux Emerald Glade in my living room.

I don't think blues or bluey greys ever look cosy, they're too cool toned.

I’ve just painted mine in Tuscan Terracotta and it’s really warm and cosy looking.

@CosyCoffee we've just painted with Reading Room Green from F and B (mixed by Tikkurilla) and it looks similar to this. I've been very pleased with it and had so much kept over I've done two bedrooms with it as well. Everything seems to go with it!

I have Scottish kilt by Valspar, it looked horrifically dark in the tin and I was just about to change my mind and not bother! It's up now and it's in a light room with a light coloured sofa and flooring, I love it and it's always complimented by anyone who visits.

F&B Beverley in my north facing sitting room. BUT it isn’t quite right with my sofa so will have to be changed. It is a lovely colour though.

Belindabelle · 12/03/2023 18:49

@Mimimayhem18 I am going to get a sample of Scottish Kilt.

That's a gorgeous colour. I have a horrible bright green in my bedroom and I'd like to swap it for that.

We went for a mid grey

Angliski · 12/03/2023 18:59

We went for f and b ( mixed by Johnson’s) rangwali and it’s terrific. Warm and cosy and a great foil for your colours.

SO224350 · 12/03/2023 19:01

We gave in trying to make our north facing living room lighter, we embraced the gloom with aubergine

We have F&B Charleston Gray in our sitting room and it’s cosy without feeling dark.

Sage green, French navy or a deep rose pink

We've got dark blue, I love how cozy it feels. (We don't still have the decks up, this was from Xmas!)

F&B "green smoke" is beautiful and goes well against greys and beiges.

Cameliasway · 14/03/2023 19:53

We have this and I love it www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/red-earth

HansBanans · 14/03/2023 19:55

We have Dulux Emerald Glade, it's lovely

Reluctantadult · 14/03/2023 19:58

Mine is dulux overtly olive on two walls. My mums just done dulux pressed petal which is nice.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 14/03/2023 21:03

We have F&B green smoke, it may be too dark for what you wanted but we only have it on 1 wall.

RosaBonheur · 14/03/2023 21:06

I'd go for a dark, dusky pink.
