Ruggable alternative rug pad

So I already have a ruggable rug and it works well for us as we have two young children that tend to spill drinks often .

I'm wanting to purchase another one but I've noticed the cushioned pad alone costs £270.00.

Just wandering if anyone has used an alternative rug pad with their ruggable rug cover??

Ruggables pads have a velcro surface on the top. My concern is that the cover won't stick down to another rug pad .
Can ay help please ?

I've used standard carpet underlay under
a thin cotton rug before. The rug stick to the underlay and the size of the rug meant it didn't really slip on the hardwood floor.

I have both a cushioned and normal underlay for Ruggable rugs. I wouldn't bother with the cushioned version again, they cost a lot more and don't really add anything to the rug.
