Only bathroom: Ditch the bath and only have shower?

We need to do up our tiny bathroom in our little victorian terrace. Never done it in 12 years and it shows!

We have 1 DC who is almost 10.
So there's 3 of us.

We've always had a bath shower and shower screen.

DH and I only ever have showers but DD prefers a bath still...

If we ditched the bath and just had a lovely walk in proper shower it would make it so much easier and nicer to do up and also feel bigger.

Would we be mad to have no bath?
I figure DC will grow out of baths soon so why be stuck with one that only gets used a handful of times a year?

If we were ever really desperate for a bath we could go to my mum's who lives nearby and has a luxurious bathroom with a huge bath!

We got rid of the bath and have a shower the size of the bath if that makes sense. Absolutely love it. There are 6 people in my house and we are on a water meter. No brainer really.

I think you should do what works for you, unless you’re trying to sell straight away. We’ve just got rid of our only bath in favour of a nice big walk-in shower. It looks great and is lovely to use, and neither of us ever has baths. I think as well, fewer and fewer people will see a bath as a must-have in future- too expensive and bad for the planet.

I think you made the right choice! We are just reinstating the bath in ours.

I don’t know about growing out of baths? I still like a bath before bed a few nights a week ( shower in morning) my 21 year old is the same, the 20 year old less so.

I would never buy a house without a bath, nor would I rent.
