Has anyone bought one's of those new sofas on Facebook market place? Heard it's a scam but can't see how when cash on delivery. I need a new sofa and they are a fraction of the cost of dfs etc or can anyone recommend a place online to buy a second hand sofa I've tried Facebook and also eBay but both are swamped with these new sofas even putting in used is still bringing up these brand new sofas

No, and personally I wouldn't trust it as a place to buy a new sofa.

We've bought a few (new, second hand and antique) sofas on ebay over the years and in my experience it's a lot easier if you are looking for a particular brand. So, for example in 2021 we were looking for a velvet sofa for our kitchen and I'd seen ones I liked from the likes of Sofa.com, Made and West Elm. That was my starting point for ebay searches and as well as second hand, there were a few business sellers offering new sofas in those (or similar) brands that were returns and therefore great prices.

Thank you! I will check eBay again. I did get my last sofa from there but now it seems it’s full of those brand new super cheap sofas hard to find any used ones anymore I was starting to wonder if there was another site people now use.

On eBay can’t you just search for auction items only?

I’ve tried that but not much coming up, must be my area only 17 used corner sofas within 10 miles and none my kind of thing! Can’t travel anywhere further as don’t drive and need to be able to get there to pay cash. I don’t think many people use eBay to sell large furniture anymore 🤔
