Parasol for garden

Looking for a large parasol for over our garden furniture. Have been looking at large cantilever style ones but the price seems to vary massively! Dunelm etc have some starting around £70/80ish and I’m seeing other shops with them upwards of £200/300!

Can anyone recommend any specific retailers? I don’t mind paying for quality. I’d rather something sturdy that will last!

saw a lovely one in costco earlier this week

@pinacoladasandsunshine never thought of checking there! It’s the quality I’m unsure if. Have seen some pretty expensive ones online that have awful reviews so I don’t want to fall into that trap 🙈

Everyone I know who's had a cantilever one has had problems with it, they're a pain to use and don't seem to last long. I've always just had a standard parasol and it's been great, it's quite a decent width and tilt with a wind up and down mechanism.

@helly013 the more I’ve looked at reviews, the more I’m seeing this 😬 Maybe need to look at normal ones that just tilt 🤔

Ours isn't a cantilever type (had one previously that didn't last long), but one that tilts. It is a Norfolk Leisure one that came from Qubox. Was around £150 iirc. Is good quality imho.

@LibertyLily Thank you! I’ll start having a look. I’ve just spent quite a bit on garden furniture (L shaped couch & armchairs with a dining height table) thinking I’d get a great big cantilever style over for over it all on our decking and now I don’t know what to get 🙈🤣

We have a cantilever one, it’s a Kettler brand, I think. No idea what it cost but it has been great, huge and very sturdy.

This is ours. This will be its third summer, the only problem we’ve had is the zip has gone on the cover.

Surprisingly we've had a couple of years out of our Asda one and it's still going. It does bob around a bit if it's quite breezy but I think you'll get that from the style of them.

We have an enormous one from Ikea which has lasted a few years now and looks set to last many more. Their prices have risen hugely in the last year or so though

We had one, it did break. If you do it, go very expensive, otherwise avoid.
