Hi, choosing a new bath for a downstairs bathroom, it will be a basic white bath with shower over.

I can't decide between acrylic or enamel bath, please can anyone help with views?

The bath shape etc is so similar as to make no difference, so it is only the relative properties of the material that matter.

Enamel baths can be bloody cold to get into. Acrylic ones warm up faster. Also, if you are in a hard water area, you can't use limescale remover on enamel.

I find cast iron baths brilliant for retaining water heat, never find them cold to get into. They are obviously very heavy to move, so if it would have to go up more than a couple of flights of stairs then I would maybe consider acrylic. Otherwise cast iron definitely my preference for a hot bath.
