Dark hallway inspo please!

We are decorating our hallway/stairs/landing and I need a little inspiration please!

We live in a 1930s semi and the hallway/landing doesn't get a lot of natural light. We have a brushed oak floor in the hallway, and plain, grey, short pile carpet up the stairs and landing which we'll be keeping. We also have built in cupboards under the stairs so a lot of wood to paint.

The wall going up the stairs is a really large, high wall and I can't decide between going for light, bright neutral tones, or just throwing caution to the wind and going for a darker colour (think F&B Oval Room Blue!). I have considered a two tone wall but not sure it would work on such a large, high wall.

Any advice/inspiration would be greatly appreciated!

I would go dark and dramatic. It’s really hard to inject light without natural light. I think it always ends up looking cold.

I like to paint the woodwork and walls the same colour as the walls. Or go darker on the woodwork. My hallway is going to be F&B French Grey with Railings on the stairs. Going to add a little dark red in the accessories.

I really want to go dark but my only concern is just how much woodwork there is in the hallway and landing. Eight doors/architraves, skirtings, under stairs cupboards, and stair spindles, bannisters and balustrade! Not sure it will work if all of that is painted dark too…
