Help me sort this space....please

Moved in to a lovely new build. Kitchen has dark green cupboards, with a wooden worktop and wood effect floor. I'm having some new wall cupboards being put up soon (hence the boxes). But I need help with the dining table end which will help clear away a lot of the clutter. It's me and 3 kids in general. I need to get a new table and was thinking an extending round one but I don't think I really want more wood! And a round one seems to take up a bit of space. I'm not sure about the corner unit and yellow boxes but need somewhere (that doesn't take up much space) for games, a few trinkets etc. Any ideas please?! TIA

I think you should look at a round extending table in painted cream wood. Putting a tall plant on it would bring in the green of your units. If you can get a mirrored plant pot that would bring in the lovely mirrors. I don't like the corner unit you need something tall and slim probably in painted wood also. Maybe a slim sideboard?

Oh and I would change the lights so they are both the same in each part.

Argh and fabric chairs instead of wooden. That's all sorry!

I really like it already! Wood adds a lovely warmth. I'd be tempted to reupholster the chair cushions in a more vibrant colour and paint the table legs a darker colour to match the kitchen units to break up the wood (or as you say if you're buying a new table soon that could solve it anyway!)

Corner sofa type dining bench in right hand corner, with table

Mid height storage sideboard instead where yellow boxes are.

Really love that space already!
I use tablecloths to brighten up my wooden table - could you do that for now so you don’t make an expensive mistake

it will look lovely with the new cupboard doors

try Instagram for inspiration!

I’m really not sure about the corner unit or yellow box things either.

A dresser or sideboard to the left of the radiator and either round table or current table closer to the window.

I can't tell whether the door into the room is fully open and back against the wall or just slightly open, if you see what I mean?

The answer would make a difference to how to utilise the space I think.

Also where are the new cupboards going exactly?

Thanks everyone for taking time to reply.

I agree that a round extending table in painted cream (?) wood would be fab. I can find one cheap on marketplace maybe and paint it. And yes to fabric chairs (dark green?) if I can find nice ones in budget.

I don’t need encouragement to get more plants-I’m an addict!
I’m not changing the lights as they’re brand new and I’ve just got them up.

I’m not sure I could cope with moving the table to one side as it needs to be central under the light IMO.

The door isn’t fully open as my mop and broom are currently behind it and they need moving so the door opens properly and that will create space.

The 3 kitchen cupboard will go on the empty wall above the worktop.

Clearly opinion is that the corner unit and yellow boxes need to go. I just need to find something slim line to replace them. Any ideas?
