How useful do people find having electric blinds? (operated by a remote, not a home hub/app system). I am considering new blinds for a glass door/window - not really in use as a door, and hence some furniture/stuff etc in front, and so remote blinds would be slightly easier. But it's not really super-hard to access them, so I'm not sure electric blinds are worth the money, especially when it's not controllable/programmable (which is LOT more money; electric ones are already significantly more than normal). They'd be used most days (was thinking of the double layer ones with sunscreen/blackout). If you have them, is the main reason you like them because you can control them when you are away, or put them on a timer etc? (The remote wouldn't give these benefits). Or is it just handy to be able to adjust them from wherever you are in the room?
(no children, so it's not an issue of needing no cords/chains, and the chain would be tethered to the wall in the case of non-electric blinds).
