Folding shower screens

Not the most exciting thread I appreciate, but due to our tiny bathroom which has an awkward little bit of a wall sticking out a the sink in the way, if we have a shower screen (which is what I want) then it will need to be fixed which means getting into the shower to turn it on and clean it, both of which I am not thrilled with the idea of. So, I discovered folding shower screens, but wondered if anyone had any experience of these - are they a nightmare to clean? Do the leak at all the joints? Anything else I haven't thought of or amazing alternatives very welcome - thank you

DS bought a flat where you had to get into the bath (which had a shower over it) to turn the shower or bath taps on. Moving the existing glass shower screen still didn't allow the controls to be reached as it didn't move outwards away from the bath, but only over the bath.

After a few months he the screen removed and a smart shower curtain put in. It looks fine and is easier to use.

i have a folding screen. It has three sections to it. It doesn't leak, it can be fiddly to fold and dh doesn't seem to have got the hang of it, so I always have to do it <sigh> but I'm happy with it

To be honest, I think a nice shower curtain would be best - not as "modern" as a screen though

I installed a hinged shower screen over my bath just yesterday - seems to work fine so far! Haven't noticed any leaks and is great for space saving.

I have a 4 panel screen and I hate it. The bits between the glass sections keep popping out when you open and close the screen. It also squeaks like a bastard, when you try opening it.

We have a seriously gorgeous curved folding shower screen over our 20+ year old p shaped bath. It cost an absolute fortune at the time and still looks as good as new. It has never leaked. It has a white rubber seal where it meets the bath, not that clear plastic that turns orange.
We solved the tap problem by installing it at the other end of the bath which doesn't help you at all, sorry.
DS and DIL have a two piece folding screen, so about 30cms is fixed then the rest of the screen folds in over the bath or outwards, so you could reach the tap if it was at that end to turn it on but might get sprayed on. (DH fitted the tap at the other end, so again not an issue). It leaks and the seal doesn't look good.
If you get one, don't get a cheap one is the moral of my story.

We have a four piece folding screen and it has been great. Its been in about 14 years and has not caused any problems at all. I wanted it originally so that we had easy access to the bath when the children were little. Now its just easy to keep out of the way if we need to or use if anyone wants a shower in that bathroom. It wasn't cheap but well worth the money.
