My doors, windowsills and staircase bannister/railings are all unpainted wood, probably cheap but I have no idea (60s house so not period features). I want to freshen the paint as it's a bit outdated and love the look of white walls with black accents. I like a natural and calm feel. I'm going to paint the doors white but am not sure whether to leave the wooden accents around the house elsewhere. I imagine the previous owners cringing at the thought of me painting the lovely woodwork but I do feel it looks outdated. Any suggestions as to how I can incorporate the 3? Do I just paint it all? The staircase is carpeted and I was thinking of white for the banister with black spindles maybe? Would it look silly to keep any parts of it unpainted? Any pictures or inspiration please much appreciated!
