Cant afford drawers, is there an alternative?

Plastic storage boxes and plastic drawers.
However Argos and Amazon both have chests of drawers for £40 which is probably what the plastic versions would cost too.

Shelves with a few small boxes for bits you want to hide away? Ikea have some cheap shelves. The Range often has some decent boxes that are cheap.

Try Freecycle or Gumtree - you might find some drawers for free!

I agree you can find cheap drawers, and this will always be a neater solution re use of space.
