Curtain track or pole?

It’s for a double window in a dining area off of a kitchen. I like the look of pencil pleat curtains but would prefer not to see the pole. But the tracks I have seen all seem so plastic-y and cheap looking! Not a fan of eyelet curtains, although I do appreciate how easy they are now I am starting to look around!

Would anyone care to share a photo of their curtains that they love?! And how they hung them?

What about a pelmet/boxing to hide the track? Like this

You could have pencil pleat curtains and hang them high enough that the pole isn't visible above the curtains? Like this:

With a shorter pole you could probably arrange it so the pole doesn't stick out the sides either, if that bothers you.

Curtain tracks are horrid IMO. I just moved into a house that has some and I can't wait to replace them. I'd forgotten they existed tbh!

Track! So much smoother to operate and you barely notice it. Ours just looks like a pole

Tracks from Cameron Fuller don't look cheap. In fact, they are quite sturdy www.polesandblinds.com/brands/cameron-fuller/system-30-straight-track

@Betty75 I think this is what I’m looking for! There’s something about curtain rings, or eyelet curtains, and poles that seem really dated to me now. I think a minimal type of rail like this might be ideal.

Oh my this is exactly what I am looking for! I don’t suppose you remember where you got it! Trying to find a track that looks good is providing very challenging. Hope OP has had some joy on this task!

I think these tracks are called ‘wave tracks’ , they conceal the fittings inside a metal/plastic casing.

I like track curtain+ pelmet and poles with curtains, not a big fan of eyelet curtains but I have got them in most rooms. My favourite are my bedroom curtains which are on a track and have a pelmet

It's a bloody nightmare isn't it!!

I think some of it is age related too. I'm 54 & curtain tracks/rails are what 'old' people had.

im not keen to go back to that.

I thought I was settled on poles with eyelet curtains, but it sounds like everyone thinks they're dated now.

I'll have another look at these links tomorrow & have a think. But they're currently still shouting 'granny' at me!!

@ApolloandDaphne Lovely! This set-up exactly what I’ve gone for in the end! The curtains are supposed to arrive tomorrow so once they are up I will post a pic.

sorry to have jumped on your thread- loads of great ideas though and so helpful! Could I ask where you got your track from please?

@Bucks264 It was just from Dunelm where I had the curtains made. I went for a more robust/ metal one though, although it’s white. It seems very sturdy but minimal and ceiling fitted so you hardly see it. Hope the curtains hang well! 🤞🏼
