Living room colour scheme for saffron yellow walls?

As above, really. Specifically Wickes' saffron yellow.

Any suggestions for carpet, curtain, and paintwork colours please? Large living room with a chimney breast (no fire though) and tall ceilings; currently have a chocolate brown sofa but can easily cover with a throw.

Thank you!

Like PP, I came on to say teal. And don't be scared of going multi-coloured. DH 'surprised' me by painting our kitchen bright saffron yellow while i was away. I hated it at first but I've just added a lot of other bright colours and now it really works - key colours added were teal and a bright brick-red rug and throws. All the colours are more subtle than primary colours so it doesn't look like a child's paintbox but it is quite creative and uplifting. Add green houseplants too.

We have yellow walls 🥰

Most colours go well with it but I’d choose three main colours. So I chose red sofas, blue rugs/curtains/cushions and golder-brown floor. But you could equally have greens or purples. Just don’t have too many colours.

Thanks for the suggestions! Really like the teal ideas.
I'm guessing skirting boards etc should be ok plain white?
I've just found some brown velvet curtains that go ok with the yellow and the sofa, which I think I'm going to go for.

Still a bit stuck on the flooring colour. I'm slightly limited to 5m wide rolls of carpet (5x6m room) and as low a budget as possible. I like the idea of a gold carpet, but my wallet doesn't Grin

That does look nice.

I've thought about vinyl but don't think I can get it in 5m widths - not sure how a join would look if I had to use two pieces.

I'm in an upstairs flat so would prefer carpet for noise reasons, as well as warmth.

I wondered about maybe a 1.5m or so wide strip of vinyl along the back edge of the room, with the rest carpeted (there's a way better selection of 4m wide rolls of everything), but can't decide whether that would look terrible.
