Has anyone bought Dekton countertops? They look beautiful and there's a huge choice but I've only had quartz before so Dekton is a bit unknown. Thanks

We have one. New kitchen 18 months ago. Got it in the ‘lunar’ colour.

We like it a lot - very easy to keep looking good, doesn’t stain and you can put hot things on it unlike quartz. Not been brave enough to put anything super hot on it and just leave it there, but apparently you can as in reality it is essentially just a kind of ginormous ceramic tile. We were told it can chip if you hit the edges with something hard and heavy, but it’s had a few knocks and no chips so far.

Only downside is that it is fairly expensive. Don’t recall exactly how much ours was, but the longest run was 7.5m and once you start taking it up the wall as well then it can start getting eye watering.

We looked but decided against it. The people who showed it to us told us that the design is just printed on. It meant that any draining ridges or sides didn't have the pattern on them.

It did look a bit strange as we wanted a marble look.

Went with quartz in the end

I don't think quartz have bold designs like marble so maybe dekton has more interesting designs? Dekton is coming out quite expensive but haven't compared it to quartz yet. We aren't haven't any drainage holes so that's not a problem.

We have Laminam which is just another brand and I love it. I’d definitely buy again if I had to! I mean fair enough ours is black so no stains but it’s as easy to clean as wall tiles.

Another thumbs up for Dekton here. Agree that it seems to be pretty much stain proof, despite everything that has been chucked at it in this house. Also, looks great. I don't regret the extra cost

We have Dekton and love it. Things go on it straight from the oven. It's very forgiving and easy to keep clean. We use draining mats when needed, no hassle and keeps the sink area looking very slick with no draining grooves. It's all personal preference but love ours.

We've had Dekton worktops for the last 6 years and they still look brand new. Love them! They are indestructible. We put hot pans straight on it out of the oven. Nothing stains it.

We had wooden worktops in our last house which were a total nightmare. Never again.

Loving the fab reviews. We're going for it
