Repainting over dark paint

I have a dark blue wall (Little Green Deep Space Blue) which is lovely, but the child who chose it has moved out of the room and I want to take the whole room back to a pale neutral. Are there any magic tips for covering it? I have read on here the suggestion to use a grey paint rather than white to neutralise it but I have some Dulux Supermatt in the garage and wonder if this might do the trick?

I would do 2-3 coats of white paint and then whatever colour you want. You want a good neutral base to give the correct tone of the paint you want to go over it.

The easiest solution is to put on a coat of Zinsser Bin primer - it will cover anything and leave a brilliant surface for your top coat.

Ah, this looks like just the ticket! Thank you.
