What chairs for oak table

we have an oak table and want to get new chairs. They need to be hard wearing so don’t want fabric. Do you think walnut wood chairs would go? I don’t want oak as it would look like a set.

I think different wood would look a bit odd. What about painted wood?

Modern or traditional?
Light wood or dark?
So many questions!

FWIW I have a modern light oak table in the dining/kitchen and have gone for oak chairs, but rather than a set I have chosen a bench on one side, three matching chairs down the other and then a different pair for the ends. I have OSKAR CHAIRS FROM oak furniture land and some wishbone chairs.

I did look at coloured chairs though. This sort of thing might suit you and be easy to clean?

I am thinking of the wishbone chairs. None of the rest of our furniture is painted which is why I thought about mixing wood. But might go with the oak wishbone chairs instead
