Modular corner sofa recommendations

I'm looking for a corner sofa. The issue I have is that we live in a three storey house and our living room is upstairs. The other issue is that the stairs to the lounge have a 90 degree bend in them which, due to the ceiling height over the bend, makes it impossible to get large furniture upstairs (I know , bad design)

We currently have two, 2 seater sofas that were from ikea (ektorp) which we managed to get upstairs

What I'm looking for is a sofa that is completely modular. So I could buy 2 end sections, middle sections and a corner section. The idea being I could get each section upstairs and then click them together in the room.

Does such a thing exist? Any recommendations? We are tight on budget so good value also important

Thanks!

Bumping this because I’m also considering a modular sofa as we think we may swap around the formation a bit.

@crochetcrazy1978 our corner sofa is from Nabru and we absolutely love it. It cost under £1000 three years ago and we were able to design the exact size we wanted. All parts are replaceable as well, so you can replace covers, arms etc as necessary (we haven't needed to).
Be aware though that it is very modular. The parts are delivered on a pallet and you build it yourself - no tools required and ideal if access to your desired location is tricky.

Yes they look perfect. Glad to hear another good review. I've ordered some fabric swatches thanks Smile

Also reassuring that Nabru is great. We have 4 Nabru sofas in different rooms in the house (2 are sofabeds).
The biggest piece of advice is to pay the extra and have them build them in your house.
The first sofa we bought we put together ourselves. They bring in so many different parts and an instruction booklet. It was difficult and time consuming and hard to get the covering over the foam, though we managed. The other 3 sofas we had them build them for us. Totally worth the extra payment to remove that stress!
Our sofas are between 4-10 years old, still look good and still comfy!!

Avoid La-Z-Boy, they don't wear very well in my experience.

IKEA vimle - and it comes flat packed too.

Can you get as many 'sections' as you like? I've been looking for a 10 seater sofa forever!

MoneyMinimiser · 19/01/2023 19:08

On nabru you can there is a build your own sofa section and you choose end pieces, middle pieces and corners. As many as you like

If you don’t want a sofa that looks modular then there’s also these from sofa.com which come In pieces for easy access but then look like a standard sofa once assembled.

I don’t have these ones but have three other sofa.com sofas and they have lasted very well (two are 17 years old one is 9 years old)

We have two IKEA gronlid sofas which are modular - you can buy a two- or three-seat section, plus individual seats, arms, a corner piece or a sofa bed (which is the most comfortable I've ever slept on). They're not ridiculously expensive either.
