Rug size question - please help!

Looking add a rug to this room. There are 2 sizes - 160x220cm & 200x280cm.

If I went with the smaller it would sit in the middle of the room. If I went with the larger, it would take up the floor, sitting under the sofa opposite the fireplace & under the stall. There would be some wood showing under the fireplace with the larger option (about 40cm).

Which size is best?

I do think bigger rugs look far more luxurious, so unless your wooden floor is really special and you want it seen, I’d go for the larger, under furniture option.

I've just measured for a rug.
We've gone for the 180x220 (biggest in this pattern), which will pretty much fill the space.
When we measured out the smaller one - I think 120x180, the tape measures looked pretty stupid sitting in the middle of the floor with carpet all around it.

I would go for the 160 x 220cm personally, I think that is big enough to be luxurious in that space, I think the bigger one might look a bit like a carpet? I mean a rug isn't supposed to fill the whole space. I personally like your current flooring and it goes with the room so I would want it to be seen.

I’ve gone with the bigger one!! So excited! I’ve recently reclaimed the living room & I’m slowly turning it into a comfy yoga/quiet room
