Does anyone have one? I'm considering one for DD7's room, for toy storage.

Could a child safely open one unassisted? Are you happy with the quality? Where did you get it from? There don't seem to be that many on the market, which makes me nervous.

We've got one in dd2s room because her room is small and with the layout there wasn't an option for and end lift one. She's 7 and can open it herself, but can't really close it herself.

We bought it quite a while ago so I can't remember where we got it from, sorry.

I have this one and it's great. A child could lift a single up probably, but not push it down. It's important not to go for an inferior cheapo one as the gas lift mechanism will likely be crap. Its a really important part so good quality is essential.

We have had these. They are very good for storage, but a small child would struggle to operate them in my experience. Also, some of the cheaper ones won't take a lot of weight in the base, so bear that in mind when shopping.

We have an ottoman (double) and zi love the storage but I would never allow a child to operate one. It’s rare but some people have died operating ottoman beds, you have to know what you’re doing. I don’t even open mine unless there’s someone else in the house.

I had the same thought about them being potentially dangerous for a child.
