I have this dressing table in grey John Lewis and I have a mirror with a light wood surround that I would like to paint to match or at least look similar to, as I don't want to have to buy a new mirror! I have painted walls but never painted furniture so have no idea of what type of paint to get or where to get it from. The furniture has almost a matt finish. Can anyone give me some advice, thanks.

I would use Frenchic paint and a foam roller for smooth application. You can use it on almost any surface and it has a good range of colours. Wilko do their own brand for a lot less which may be better for you for a small item.

I used the Valspar furniture paint recently to paint ikea wardrobes, needs no primer or anything and finished really well. They can mix literally any colour and can colour match to your existing unit.

I have used Rustoleum chalk paint and protective wax on a few things, it was easy and I was very pleased with the result.

I have used workplace cupboard posnt quit a few times and have been happy with the results but the colour range is a bit limited.
I agree with pp vaspar is good to though it's considerably more expensive.

This, also sanding well before application and a light sand and wipe in between applications. Mini rollers always give better results too, have fun.

I don't know if it's the right thing to do or not but I spray paint things like this! I spray painted a chest of drawers recently and it looked lovely.

On our gloss-wrapped wardrobes I sanded lightly, used Zinsser primer, sanded lightly again then painted. Used a gloss mini roller. Worked well!

Thank you all for the suggestions. I will look into the brands suggested and see what colours and finishes I can find.
