Advice on toddler bedroom

Hi, just wanting some advice on my little girls bedroom (she's two).

She's asked for blue, and likes Cars, Peppa Pig and pug dogs if that is of any help!

I am not good at wallpapering but I think I could manage a feature wall

Any advice would be really appreciated as I am really struggling

Can you paint it blue and put some decals up? Their tastes change so quickly at that age that I'd be reluctant to put up wallpaper.

You can buy wall stickers that can be easily removed. That way you paint the wall and as she gets older you can change the stickers to what she is into.

If possible, go for a neutral ish base paint and then get vinyl stickers of the things she likes and let her put them up at her eye level.

Accessorise with bedsheets and large cuddly toys thar can double as cushions,

Their tastes change really quickly, but this helps keep their room their own without too much cost or time.

Yep wall stickers are the way to go. Means I can change DD’s bedroom yearly as she grows. We’ve currently got a rainbow unicorn theme!

Don’t wallpaper it!! Toddlers are fickle creatures and it’s a hell of a job to change it again. I’d paint it blue, probably a nice light blue over a darker one, since it goes with more. Then pick out a couple of bedding options to show her based on the things she likes and then let her make the final decision.

I third wall stickers - there are some amazing designs and can cover whole walls

FlounderingFruitcake · 24/11/2022 11:43

Also wall stickers- DD had some from john lewis and they took all the paint off with them even though they are advertised as easily removable. Never again.

Thank you all so much for your advice, I hugely appreciate it!

Wall decals sound the way to go, is there any sites people have used they would recommend? I've just been on Dunelm but they seem to either have 5 stars or 1 stars which is worrying

Definitely wall stickers. DS currently has some animal ones but we're just about to change them when we move to a space theme. So easy but makes such a difference.

Decals on light blue painted walls. You can get a road decal and put it at a level she can reach, or a mat with roads on.

We use ones from duelm and they come off lovely.

MarianneVos · 24/11/2022 13:15

I've had Dunelm ones and eBay ones and they've all been great (just moved house and no paint came off with them).

Dunelm also do a really good Peppa coverless duvet set that both my toddlers have.

Can't see it in Dunelm any more but lots of other places have it. It's only 4.5 tog but my kids still seem very cosy in it.
