Floor for bedroom

Hi,
I want to put my house on the market after Christmas but my daughter’s room needs a new floor. Currently has a brown carpet which is awful. She is a teenager so not the tidiest!
Im thinking of a wooden, or looks like wood, floor. I don’t want to spend a lot.
Can anyone recommend any that I can fit myself?
Any photos would be great!

If you just want to smarten it up for the sale, then a new carpet will be the easiest & cheapest way. Just plan it for the last minute before photos & viewings.
You might need to put something over it to protect it though, in between viewings.

Hard flooring would probably work out more expensive. Do you know what is under the carpet? If it’s floorboards then you would need a base put down to lay vinyl etc on top. Vinyl tiles are not too hard to do but then you may need to change the threshold strip and do something at the join with the skirtings.

I’ve put wood effect Amtico in my daughter’s room as carpet would get ruined from makeup etc but it’s not cheap

How about buying a big rug too go over the carpet and take it with you when you move. Much cheaper.
